Ezine Design and Format

When designing your ezine and thinking about the format, remember to keep it clean and easy to read. I have seen some ezines with so many squiggles and decorations, it made reading the ezine almost impossible!

An example of what I mean below:

@@@@@@@@@+++++++++++@@@@@@@

My Own Ezine

@@@@@@@@++++++++++++@@@@@@@

1. Article
2. Resources
3. Readers comments
4. Etc.
##############*********##############

Using too many of these might seem like a good idea, but it is way too distracting and it makes your ezine hard on the eyes!

A much better example:

3. Readers Comments
4. Etc.

Always put your contact information in your ezine as well as the subscribe and unsubscribe information. I would suggest putting all this info at the end of the ezine. You also want to make sure your email is readily available. I would put this at the top of your ezine along with the ezine name and copyright info.

A good text editor to use to format your ezine is Textpad. Download a FREE version at www.textpad.com. Very easy to use and convenient.

This tutorial will deal with the three major steps of ezine publishing.

1. Design and format
2. Content
3. Promotion
